Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is composed with a large number of micro-sensor nodes which are deployed in the region, through the wireless communication to form a self-organizing multi-hop network, the aim of which is to cooperatively sense, collect and chi hair straightener process the information of object in the coverage area, and then send to the observer.The current study about the protocol of WSN focus on two aspects: MAC Protocol and Routing Protocol. MAC protocol which including the media access control and error control mechanisms guarantees the Lacoste Polo Shirts integrity , accurate, reliable communication with each other and as far as possible affords the fair and effective communication channel to share. Traditional wireless network MAC protocol Lacoste Shirts can not satisfy the demand for wireless sensor networks, the study for the wireless sensor network MAC protocol are more and more popular and have great significance.This thesis first introduces an overview of wireless sensor networks, the research significance and the status. And then introduces the existing chi hair straightener protocol. S-MAC (Sensor-MAC) are one of most important wireless sensor chi straightener network protocols. It uses similar way with IEEE 802.11 to avoid conflict, including virtual and physical carrier sense and RTS / CTS exchange. It applies the three new techniques to reduce energy consumption: nodes periodically sleep to reduce energy consumption caused by free monitor; adjacent nodes to form the virtual clusters, so that automatically synchronizes the time of sleep; message transmission method used to reduce the delay.
